Enable Play on Phone Option in Outlook

Use the steps outlined below to fix the issue that results in the following message when using the "Play on Phone" option available from Outlook 2013:

Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging Service cannot be contacted to play messages on your phone; Try again later. If this problems continues, contact your exchange Administrator or Support Organization.

Please consult your local IT support if you have questions about the installation process or if you are prompted for admin privileges during the Hotfix install.


Instructions

  1. Using a web browser, go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2880477.
  2. Click the "Hotfix Download Available" link/button.
  3. Select the appropriate version of Outlook (most users likely have the x86 platform/version of Outlook installed).
  4. Enter your first.last@colostate.edu e-mail address in the applicable fields.
  5. Click the "Request Hotfix" button.
  6. Follow the instructions in the e-mail generated to download and install the Hotfix.
