Access Voice Mail or the Voice Mail Options using the Office 365 Portal for Voice Mail Only Accounts

Office 365 allows users to edit voice mail settings for Voice Mail Only mailboxes using the Office 365 portal. Instructions for accessing the Office 365 portal using a Voice Mail Only account are provided below.

  1. Using a web browser, go to https://portal.office.com
  2. Login to the O365 portal using the username (10DigitPhoneNumber@colostate.edu) and password for the voice mail only account. Note that the @colostate.edu part is required when entering the username. If you do not know the password (which is different than the PIN used for phone access) for the Voice Mail Only account, you can reset the password using the Change VM Only Password tool. An example username and password to access a Voice Mail Only account using the Office 365 portal is shown below:

    VM Only Username: 9704919999@colostate.edu
    Password: Voice Mail Only Password

  3. After logging in to the O365 portal, click the "Mail" link on the landing page or select "Mail" from the list that appears when you click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  4. Using the "Mail" section, you can access voice mail messages which are included as attachments to applicable e-mail messages in the Voice Mail Only mailbox. If you would like to update voice mail settings (ex: to reset the PIN used for phone access or to create Call Answering Rules) please proceed with the steps below.
  5. Click the Gear icon (top right) and select "Mail" under the "My app settings" subheading.
  6. From the Options menu on the left, click "General." and note the "Voice Mail" section underneath it.
  7. Expand the "Voice mail" menu.
  8. Using the links available under voice mail, you can alter voice mail options for the voice mail only mailbox including resetting ther PIN and recording new greetings.
