Setting up Outlook to connect to the central Exchange servers using RPC over HTTP
If you are launching Outlook for the first time, you will be prompted to set up an e-mail account. If you are not prompted with the account setup wizard, you can launch the wizard from the Email Accounts option in the Tools menu.
Instructions
- Select "Add a new e-mail account" and click "Next."

- Select "Microsoft Exchange Server" and click the "Next" button.

- Enter the text
exchange.colostate.eduas the server, and enter your eID eName as the user, then click the "Check Name" button.
- You will notice that the server name has changed and your name has been underlined. Click on the "More Settings..." button. At this point you may be asked for authentication.

- On the Security tab, we recommended that you check the "Encrypt data between Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Exchange Server" option. Click "OK" on this dialog box.

- Click the Connection tab.
- Check the "Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP" checkbox and then click on the "Exchange Proxy Settings..." button.

- Enter "mail.colostate.edu" as the URL to to connect to. Check the "Mutually authenticate the session..." checkbox and enter "msstd:mail.colostate.edu" as the Principal name for proxy server as shown below.

- Click OK on the Exchange Proxy Settings dialog.
- Click OK to close the "Microsoft Exchange Server" dialog and return to the setup wizard.
- Click "next" to continue with the setup process, and then on the screen that follows, click "Finish." You may begin using your Exchange mailbox.

- Each time you start Outlook you will be asked to authenticate your mailbox.
