Resource Coordinators: Accessing a Shared Mailbox using Outlook Web Access
All members of a Shared Mailbox's permissions group have the ability to open a Shared Mailbox using Outlook Web Access. In order to do so, users must enter a specific URL identifying the shared mailbox to be opened.
Use Outlook Web Access to Open a Shared Mailbox
- Open a web browser. It's recommended that you use an Internet Explorer browser because Exchange 2007 provides a full-featured Outlook Web Access environment for Internet Explorer browsers and a "light" version of Outlook Web Access for non-IE browswers.

Enter the URL for the shared mailbox. The URL for a shared mailbox is
https://mail.colostate.edu/owa/plus the e-mail address of the shared mailbox. The example below illustrates what the Outlook Web Access URL would be for a shared mailbox that has the given e-mail address:- E-mail Address: acnsdemo@mail.colostate.edu
- OWA URL: https://mail.colostate.edu/owa/acnsdemo@mail.colostate.edu
- When prompted to login, enter your eName and ePassword.

The tool below will display the Outlook Web Access URL for a shared mailbox. Enter the shared mailbox's e-mail address and click Show URL to see the URL.
Troubleshooting
- If you enter a malformed URL, you will see the following message after entering your eName and ePassword and clicking the
Logonbutton:This mailbox cannot be opened. The mailbox may be located in a different forest from the Client Access server. For access to the mailbox or for more information, contact technical support for your organization.Re-enter the Outlook Web Access URL and try again.
