How do I get an account?
Important Points
- Office 365 mailboxes are provided for all eID accounts that exist in the campus Active Directory (the COLOSTATE domain), except for undergraduate student accounts whose e-mail accounts are provided by Google Apps.
- Mailboxes are associated with primary eIDs and secondary eIDs (as of 12/29/2014).
- Resource coordinators may request exceptions for undergraduate students who are not eligible for Exchange mailboxes by default.
- Mailboxes are provided as long as a user's eID is active.
To obtain an Office 365 mailbox:
- Log into the eID website at http://eid.colostate.edu using your eID username and password.
- Click the Change E-mail Address link at left.
- Users who qualify for a Central Exchange mailbox will see Exchange options available and should select Central Exchange for E-mail and Calendaring.
- Click the Change E-mail button to submit your request.
- Within 2 hours, an Office 365 mailbox will be created for you. At this point you can configure an e-mail client, such as Outlook, to connect to your Office 365 mailbox or you can access your new mailbox at https://portal.office.com.
